Casa Killa - Killa Volunteering Yanesha Community Central Jungle - Community Education
Interested in volunteering in the Central Selva? Killa Natural's Volunteer Program is an exciting opportunity for volunteers to learn about life in native communities and gain practical experience in sustainability, while being hosted by native families from the Yanesha Community of Loma Linda in Palcazú, Oxapampa.
Key points:
- The program will take place from March 28 to 31, 2025.
- The cost is S/.650 for 4 days and 3 nights. It does not include the ticket to Villa Rica.
- Includes accommodation, breakfast for 5 days and dinner on the first day, pick-up from Villa Rica, orientation and 24/7 support.
- Community stay for 5 days and 4 nights.
- Traditional diet with community foods.
- Visits and swimming in the Palcazú River, a center of botanical knowledge and native schools.
- Reflection circles with schoolchildren.
- Fruit picking and harvesting.
- Yanesha language class and obtaining the Yanesha name.
- Support in the program of your choice or assignment:
1. School reinforcement.
2. Skills of indigenous women.
3. Infrastructure improvement.
- Discover the beauty of the Central Jungle.
- A prior interview is required for selection and confirmation.

Tentative volunteer itinerary
Due to the varied nature of this intervention, volunteer activities may not follow a 100% stable schedule. Work schedules and daily routines will depend on the individual location and host family. The planned itinerary is as follows.
Main volunteer days
Day 1:
8:00 am Arrival in Villa Rica:
Volunteers leaving from Lima and volunteers leaving from other regions can arrive at their own pace with the same meeting point at 8am.
Breakfast in Villa Rica square
9:00am Departure from Villa Rica to the Yanesha community of Loma Linda
2:00pm Welcome, lunch and assignment of host houses.
From here the on-site program begins:
AFTERNOON: Guided tour of the community
NIGHT: Coordination with team.
Day 2:
Intense days of volunteering in the 3 fields of action:
- School reinforcement.
- Skills of indigenous women.
- Infrastructure improvement.
Breakfast and dinner with a host family.
Lunch at the community dining room.
Last day of volunteering
Day 3:
Special farewell celebration with schoolchildren and free time to go to the river, enjoy, etc. If they wish, they can accompany their host family on that day, as it is a unique and special experience for many volunteers.
1:00pm: Departure for Villa Rica with arrival at 5pm at the latest.
5:00pm: Dinner for reflections and sharing experiences among volunteers (optional).
